Getting rid of fleas is not an easy task for the Do-Yourself-Individuals, but some of the mechanical measures include: bathing your pets with a flea shampoo, washing your pet’s bedding(s) and carrier(s). You should vacuum the entire home or business flooring every 48 hours including all couches and chairs along with their seat cushions and/or pillows. Don’t forget to remove the seat cushions and vacuum the cracks and crevices of the furniture. Be sure to throw away your vacuum bags or empty the debris canister (if your vacuum is bag less) outside in garbage cans. If you have a bag less vacuum make sure you also wash the canister with a dish-washing soap and rinse the canister thoroughly and let it air or towel dry before re-using. Vacuuming helps remove all stages of the fleas, but will not eliminate the problem.

There are many over-the-counter flea remedies available at any big box store. However, they are not 100% effective. They can help manage a flea problem, but they cannot successfully solve one. The main reason is because most of these products only affect the adult fleas, leaving the eggs and larvae behind to continue to develop and re-emerge as adult fleas only to continue the flea cycle.

The best way to get rid of fleas is with the help of a professional pest control company, like Dolphin Pest Control. We can provide you with the best flea service and solution to remove a flea infestation from your home or business. If you think you might have a flea problem, get in contact with us today. The longer you wait, the worst the problem will become.
